Because Nigrina hath a painted face,
Many suspect her to be light and base:
I see no reason to repute her such,
For out of doubt she will abide the tuch.
Even though a Black woman is disguised as beautiful, yet many
hold her in suspicion as being of low spirituality and base,
but I have no reason to refute her reputation, for no doubt
her dark nature will be seen.
